Shanghai Matech Introduces a Utility Model Heat Sink Structure for LED and Industrial Lighting Applications

Shanghai Matech Industry Ltd. has developed a utility model heat sink structure designed to support thermal management in LED lighting fixtures and other lighting applications. The newly developed lamp housing heat sink structure combines a circular heat sink base plate with a stepped heat dissipation surface and strategically arranged heat sink fins to provide an integrated structure for heat dissipation and lamp module installation.

The development reflects Matech’s broader focus on precision manufacturing, custom metal components and engineering solutions designed to address the performance and application requirements of various industrial sectors. The company currently provides precision casting, machining, surface treatment and customized industrial component solutions for global customers.

Engineered Heat Dissipation Structure

The utility model features a circular heat sink base plate with two functional sides. One side serves as the lamp module mounting surface, while the opposite side incorporates the heat dissipation structure.

The heat dissipation surface consists of an outer annular plane, an arched connecting surface and an inner plane. The inner plane is positioned lower than the outer annular plane, creating a stepped configuration that increases the available surface area for heat dissipation while maintaining a smooth transition between the different sections of the structure.

A central vertical heat sink fin is positioned on the inner plane, while multiple peripheral fins are distributed radially across the heat dissipation surface. This configuration provides multiple heat dissipation surfaces to facilitate heat transfer from the lighting assembly to the surrounding environment.

Designed for Practical Lamp Assembly

Beyond thermal management, the structure incorporates features intended to support lamp module installation. The mounting side includes a lamp module positioning groove, while a threaded fixing structure is provided for securing the lamp module.

The outer annular plane also incorporates multiple evenly distributed countersunk screw holes. These features are intended to provide stable positioning and facilitate the assembly of lighting modules within the housing.

The inner plane incorporates an approximately figure-eight-shaped configuration, with the lamp module fixing ring and central heat sink fin positioned within the two respective loops. The arrangement also leaves an area without peripheral fins where the central fin approaches the lamp fixing ring, allowing space for the lamp module fixing structure within the overall design.

Applications Across Lighting Markets

The heat sink structure is designed for use across a range of lighting applications where thermal management and compact component integration are important considerations. Potential application areas include LED lighting fixtures, industrial lighting equipment and outdoor luminaires.

The design may also be relevant to manufacturers and lighting system integrators seeking customized thermal management components for lighting assemblies. By combining mounting and heat dissipation functions within a single structural component,  the design is intended to simplify integration into different lighting products.

Aluminum Alloy Manufacturing and Precision Machining

According to the product development information, the heat sink base plate can be manufactured from aluminum alloy using die-casting or extrusion processes. Subsequent CNC machining can be used to produce the lamp positioning groove, countersunk screw holes, threaded structures and required dimensional details of the heat sink assembly.

Surface treatment options include anodizing or sandblasting, depending on application requirements. Quality inspection can include dimensional accuracy, surface quality, flatness and other specified inspection requirements before the finished components are packaged and stored.

These manufacturing capabilities align with Matech’s broader integrated manufacturing approach, which includes aluminum casting, CNC machining, heat treatment and surface finishing services.

Supporting Continued Product Development

The utility model was granted and officially published on October 3, 2025, in Shanghai, China. Its development adds another example to Matech’s ongoing work in engineering-focused product development and customized industrial manufacturing.

Matech has highlighted continuous improvement, research and development and intellectual property development as part of its long-term manufacturing strategy. The company maintains capabilities spanning customized metal components, casting, precision machining and related manufacturing processes.
